For couples
Put the phones down together.
Phones are one of the most common things couples argue about. Second Key turns it into something you do together: each of you blocks your own worst apps, and each of you holds the other’s key.
Each of you holds the other’s key.
Pro for two blocks both phones and gives each of you the other’s key — one bill, one shared tally.
Asking is the point.
An early unlock takes a reason and an answer. Asking out loud is harder than tapping “ignore limit” — which is exactly why it works.
No snooping.
Your partner sees requests and decisions, never your messages or what you watched.
Mixed phones are fine.
iPhone and Android pairs work the same way.
How it works.
01
Pick the apps.
Instagram, TikTok, BGMI, YouTube — whichever ones take your nights. On iPhone, through Apple’s own Screen Time picker.
02
Set the hours.
Tonight by default: 9:30 pm to 7:00 am. Decide who can end it early — you after a delay, your keyholder, or nobody.
03
Hand someone the key.
A partner, a sibling, a study partner. Six characters and sixty seconds, on whatever phone they own.
04
Hold.
The shield goes up. Leaving early takes a reason and their answer — and every attempt to slip out lands on their phone.
Questions.
- Do we both have to pay?
- No. Holding a key is free, so only the person being blocked needs a plan. If you both want to be blocked, Pro for two covers both of you for $89.99 a year.
- Can my partner see what I do on my phone?
- No. They see your unlock requests, their own answers, bypass alerts and the weekly tally. Never your messages, photos or what you watched.
- What if my partner is asleep when I ask?
- You decide together whether an unanswered request auto-approves after ten minutes, or waits for an answer.
